Thank You Amazon!
You don't need brushroll if doing bare floors.
I have 2 cats, so a lot of pet hair. It works quick and easy . I love that it's light weight also. That was important to me. Don't hesitate if you need a good, powerful , easy to use vacuum at a great price!
When I first got it home of course I used it throughout the entire house (a mixture of hardwood floors and a few area carpets). The beater bar on the carpets was incredibly efficient and easy to use, as the entire unit is very light. Then I tackled the hardwood with the beater bar turned off. It had great suction, and I was pleased (emptied the unit twice) but it was hard to hit the inside corners and our hardwood staircase because the unit doesn't have a head-swiveling action -- it's straight ahead and back, reposition, and repeat. It cannot be "steered". So I made my own swiveling floor stick out of a plastic tube and an old Electrolux floor piece. You could use a length of PVC. Surely you have an old floorpiece hanging around, and some duct tape?
Light weight, great pick-up and superb for the kitchen. This fits perfectly under the edge of the kitchen base cabinets and won't scuff or scratch my new cabinetry.
I've had many vacuums but this little shark is amongst the best I've ever had.
Big expensive vacuums wouldn't lift sock lint from my weaved pattern carpet, no problem with my new Shark.
The dirt canister isn't very large so emptying every other time may be needed. It also doesn't have a retractable cord but no problem for me. The cord is nice and long too.
Pros: lightweight, great for apartments, upgrade over basic vacuum, great quality
Cons: small canister, head doesn't swivel.
Neutral: no fancy features, just turn brushroll on/off for carpet & flat surfaces
